Well, I think Joseph's photos are AMAZING!! I don't get how he can do such things with a camera... I mean, they are perfect in colors, forms, atmosphere... all these things are calculated the moment he shoots.
This image www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/6802513/ is very impressive, I feel like a deadman when I see it, it's like if I were in another world as if all of us were dead... It's human self destruction, cutting trees means killing our lungs or the earth's lungs. We don't need this killing of each other....

In addition to being beautiful, this picture also reflects the serenity of the mind. This lake is like our thoughts, always in movement but underneath.
A very peaceful and relaxing photo.

I totaly agree with Romain!!! Joseph's photos are really wonderfull, I mean completly amazing !!!! The way he takes the photo, the object he chooses, mostly beautiful flowers, it's really impressive. When I saw these photos, these flowers, I thought: Do such perfect things exist on Earth? It is so perfect, that it becomes unreal.
It is difficult to choose the most beautiful one, but I really liked this photo, which represents a yellow flower, like the rising sun !

First of all I would like to say that Joseph's photos are great! He uses a lot of effects in the pictures and that's what makes them special, he makes a simple flower look like an entire world and that's why everyone just loved his pictures! They are fresh and alive just as the Dekita site should be! I've chosen this picture because I believe that this one better than the others represents all images as it has an element of each.(Color, effects)!

www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/18700656/ :)
I chose this photo because there is a very romantic
atmosphere. The lights and the composition are both very
beautiful. I like very much this city, it's so wonderful
and enchanting.
It is an incredible scene!

I really admired this picture www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/13679559/ for its beauty and splendor but most of all because I think it has everything to do with Dekita’s site. In fact, butterflies are "free animals", and in this forum we can discuss and express ourselves “without any charge”.

I think that this photo ( www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/17654650/in/set-173194/ ) is the best for the Dekita site because I like the colors very much and it shows how amazing and otherworldly nature can be.

Hi everybody on flickr-dekita! Thank you very much indeed for your comments on my pictures! I am very honored and sort-of speechless...
Should anyone have questions or should you like to discuss things, don't hesitate to bring up things here and I will try to answer / reply. Don't think, however, that I know the answer to all of your questions ... ;)

Ciao Josef! I'm the coding and design guy on Dekita.org. I've noticed you're from Northern Italy -- I'm from across the mountains in Switzerland.
The new headers on Dekita should give the site a friendly, attractive face, so a photo like Bog, while being impressive in its own way, might be too sombre and "heavy". We're probably also going to stay away from the re-coloured flowers because they're a bit too artificial.
Orange Beauty is a stunning image, however, and I've already been playing with it for a page design in the top-secret Dekita Test section. :-)
Your "abstract" shots would make great design fodder too, like this one or this.
And I do have a question. I noticed only after posting the Dekita entry on the new headers that some of your images are placed under a Creative Commons license while others have "all rights reserved". I wonder if this reflects a preference, shall we say, for the photos under full copyright: do you place them under stricter copy protection because you like them better than the others and are less willing to give them away for free, or do you have some other criterion for your licensing choices?
AND! Are you going to sue us if we steal a photo under full copyright?

ok... so, I've chosen this pic www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/12538619/, because it's just amazing really. It's so bright and obscure at the same time. I don't know if it's the right one for Dekita, but it's definetly my favorite one.

I think the immature strawberry is the picture that represents the dekita.org students the best. The strawberry will grow and become a succulent and juicy red strawberry. As will the students of dekita, they will grow and mature and become english experts. Plus I just love that picture.. the macro is amazing! Congrats Joseph!!!

Well, in my opinion, www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/10417845/ is the perfect image to be the new header.
In fact, even though each color represents a different person, a different opinion, life or dream, they are all together in this world (trough Dekita?) .
That's why I think an image like that should be the new header.

I guess www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/9500503/ is the best image to be Dekita new header.
It is an amazing and breathtaking picture of a spider web.
Aren't all the students connected like that, in cyberspace?
In my opinion, this macro shot could be a wonderful header to Dekita site and will let visitors speachless!
Kisses...

www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/10159786/ ...
this one is definitely my favourite one.
I can't explain it. There is no reasonable explanation to answer why this picture is my favourite one.
This photo makes me feel diferent. And the most important, makes me FEEL. The colours, the tenderness of the shapes... I don't know. It is quite complex and I'm complicating myself trying to explain the unexplainable
Congratulations, Josef, you made it: this is a wonderful work of art.

Josef´s pictures are gorgeous!!! All of them. For the header, i think that the best one would be the winter landscape ((with snow all around with a mountain in the background; the tree and a warm sunshine))because we are in a new season and a new season asks for a new header...
Actually, my favorite photografe is that one : www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/show/ , that show us a red sky with white elements ((a house, a tree..))
it is a combination of love, hate, peace, colours, hell, harmony, dreams, heat...it is brilliant!!!

www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/14654972/
I just loved the colors and the form of the flowers... I feel attracted!
As for the header I chose this one:
www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/7665024/
because I think this immensity, this infinity of the landscape can be the symbol of the immensity of things we can do, love and write about. The world is big.

Hi Rudolf alias anark, nice meeting you, and your homw town. That's indeed not very far from my "rooting" point :) I understood from your flickr profile that you are currently staying in Japan (wow I envy you, as I am a bit Japoholic ;).. I am now staying in The Netherlands... Anyway, glad meeting you!
Let me first reply to your licensing question: in fact I was not aware that my pictures are listed under different licenses, lol, ... I probably pressed the wrong button at some point! So, feel free to use any of my pictures, I am definitely not gonna sue you for that! I am an amateur photographer who feels very honored that you will be using some of my pictures.
I won't tell you which pictures of mine you should use for your project. Nevertheless, I should like to say that I fully agree with you that some pictures or categories of pictures are not suitable as header pictures, regardless of how good or bad one might find them. While you asked people to select their favorites, you will have to select the most suitable (from a graphical and design point of view) one(s) for the header project.
I will wait patiently and see what you'll all together will come up with.

This photo is as great as the first one, because when I look at it, I just want to slide on the sand and pull into the water that seems so clear. Also, the sky is totally blue, without a cloud and here in Brazil, we don't have this type of sky at the moment that I write.

Hi, I think that this photo taken by Josef is very beautiful, because it represents the sea in movement while sunset. It is very relaxing to see such a photo, because you imagine how it must be there so you morally feel well. Personally, this photo records my infancy, because I was in Kenya and I have already seen such a place. That's why I have chosen this photo.
www.flickr.com/photos/josefstuefer/16123063/ This picture is amazing, because we have the impression that there is a webcam in a christmas tree ball. And I'm so curious to know how have this photo been taken.

Josef -- I've just run into a technical problem: the Dekita.org header graphics are some 780 pixels wide. To cover the whole width, I need access to the big, high-resolution originals you uploaded. Flickr, however, grants me access to the big originals only if you placed them under a Creative Commons license. Could you change the license for all your existing photos?
Thanks!

Okay -- I've made a selection of fifteen images, cut a detail out of each image that fits the available space on the site, and uploaded those details as our new headers. Each time a page is loaded in a browser now, a random header out of those fifteen gets served. Go take a look and feel free to reload the page a couple of times!
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and, of course, thanks one more time to Josef for letting us use his great photos!

Nappe -- that's a fun shot and reminds me quite a bit of Escher's Hand with Sphere.
I don't want this game to continue until we've added all of Josef's photos, however. So let's say we'll keep it open for another week and another five pictures.
And I'll stick to the criteria I stated on Dekita, namely: (1) no photos that are low in colour, (2) no photos with modified colours, (3) no photos that can't easily be sliced up into pictures that are a whole lot wider than tall.

And this picture bring me this atmosphere of sun, hot and the sea...lovely!And it reminds me Natal/RGN, where I love going and it one of my best places to go and visit in Brazil.

Joseph's photos are absolutely amazing. They're all very beautiful for one reason or another. Composition, detail and colour choice together with photographic skills make the difference. I love photography and sepecially when it seems like painting with light. That's why I my favourits go to abstracts and landscapes. For these reasons I chose this photo as my favourite.
