About DEEPWAVE . ORG

Our Earth is a planet of water. The high seas form more than half of the habitat of our blue planet. They comprise the largest ecological system on Earth and are home to millions of animal and plant species. The oceans are the primary engine of the global climate and are a substantial source of food and resourses for mankind. But the network of interconected seas face a variety of threats. Each day environmental pollution and false management of resources destroy this unique habitat. Only with united efforts on national and international level can this cruel sell-out can be stopped. DEEPWAVE, the initiative for the protection of the high and deep sea, is working for the awareness of this issue.




:: BACKGROUND

DEEPWAVE, the initiative for the protection of the high and deep sea, was founded in spring 2003. A main goal of the initiative is it to contribute to the development and promotion of environmental compatible structures for the ecological systems of the high and deep sea.

DEEPWAVE wants to

promote public consciousness for the environmental endangerments
undertake political pressure in order to prevent the causes
promote the spreading of scientific knowledge and
offer an organizational framework for information and exchange of marine topics.

The implementation of the association purpose is desired in particular by:

the promotion of projects
public and information work and
the acquisition of donations and sponsors

Support the work of DEEPWAVE!

There are several possibilities to support DEEPWAVE:

Become a member or supporting member of our initiative:
Only by your financial employment for the initiative it will accomplish time- and cost-intensive research and to present our interests to authorities like politicians and legislators. As member or supporting member of the initiative you receive unrestricted entrance to current information’s on our Internet side. In addition, you receive electronically the quarterly DEEPWAVE REPORT with reports, messages and background information’s around the high and deep sea.

Give us time:
Write to us and send us letters with your suggestions and ideas. Support our efforts to provide more interest for the environmental protection in the ocean. Take part in letter actions to the responsible persons.

Announce us:
Inform your friends, acquaintance and colleagues about our campaigns. Or you help to spread our Internet address by using our advertisements and banners or by giving a link to our Internet side.
