About Decisive Moments
First of all, let's get something straight: it's all relative.
Ultimately, you should decide what a “decisive moment “ is or what decisive moments are. These guys who believe they are the arbiters of this classic ideal, form or theme are riding too high upon inflated hubris.
For those not in the know, "Decisive Moment" refers to Henri Cartier-Bresson's methodology of taking photos that capture serendipitous moments, coincidences of circumstance.
The term was actually coined by Cardinal von Retz. The American publisher of Cartier-Bresson’s first English edition of his work, Dick Simon, used von Retz’s phrase as the title of Cartier-Bresson’s book (originally titled Images à la Sauvette), the first photodocumentary of decades of his work.
So, post whatever you want. Please try to use some discretion though, please try to post authentically spontaneous (un-posed) photos, because although I'm certainly not going to waste my time screening and censoring and deleting your photos, it would be nice to have a pool of photos that reflect the theme—whatever that means. Besides, I rather be taking pictures, than administering or managing anything so esoteric.
