15 Apr 08 - All PHOTOS related to the "7 Wonders" are welcome here, but videos are not.

The photos submitted have been fabulous. If I invited one or two of your photos and you have others of the 20 sites we're covering, figure the others would be welcome on the site as well.

While you're posting here, take a moment to look at and comment on the other photos. There's no "post one, comment on one" rule here, but there are some fabulous photos that deserve favorable feedback.

About Washington Post "Seven Wonders"

In imitation of the international group that selected "the New 7 Wonders," the Washington Post travel section sponsored a contest to pick the "Seven Wonders" of the Washington area -- which they defined as "within a four hour drive of Washington".

This group is for photos of the seven wonders themselves as well as the other 13 sites that were finalists.

Washington, DC and suburbs: Lincoln Memorial, National Cathedral, US Capitol, Washington Monument, C&O Canal, Pentagon, National Mall, Jefferson Memorial

New York City: Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Chrysler Building

Pennsylvania: Fallingwater and Independence Hall

Virginia and Maryland: Dulles Airport, Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, Monticello, UVA lawn, Skyline Drive, Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

I'm thinking that "the National Mall" isn't just the piece of grass, but also includes the museums and monuments along the Mall (e.g., Vietnam, WWII, Korea, Air and Space) that didn't make it onto the list in their own right.

Obviously, there are many other spectacular places in and near Washington that didn't make the list (like the White House, Arlington Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, Roosevelt Island, etc.) Please cooperate in keeping the group's focus by posting only photos of the 20 specific sites that made the Post's list.
