The Lobsterboy Revue

view profile

I believe that a number of you know or have heard of Lobsterboy and his Revue. If you haven't, Lobsterboy puts on a Revue of local and regional vaudeville and burlesque acts. As for my involvement, well, I'm the infamous Sea Monster and this will be my last show for a while so my body paint and grass skirt will be (perhaps not permanently) retired after this show.

The show is at the Warehouse Theater on Sunday December 18th at 7:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. Tickets are $15 dollars.

Go to www.lobsterboy.net for more information and to buy advance tix - I highly recommend doing this as the shows often sell out.

It's definitely lots of fun! and weird.

You do NOT wanna miss the Lobsterboy Revue. Especially as it is Sea Monster's last appearance in this incarnation!

by the way, there's a little blurb about the show in the Washington Post Express today if you can find a copy on your way home. It's on page E15 of the Weekend Pass part of the Express. I tried to get the link to the Express pdf but the website won't allow it- maybe they haven't posted today's express yet.

I suppose it's ridiculous to ask if this is appropriate for teens, eh? ;)

hmmmm. weeeeeellll. Trixie and Monkey are a new burlesque show. When I saw them at 9:30 one skit did involve pasties. Perhaps Do could give a better assessment?

Personally, I think your average teen nowadays can see a lot racier material just playing video games . . .

yeaaaaah, there's a fair amount of flesh, and i agree that there are a lot of racier ways to see flesh (internet, video games, etc.) and if it were a movie, it would be rated R for "mature themes" and some nudity and some "language" if that helps anybody. I think those issues are probably up to the individual parents although I've never seen any teens at the shows. there's nothing offensive if you don't mind a bit of nudity in some of the acts.

Really, I was mostly kidding - I've read up, and seen the pics. :)

I drag the kid to a lot of places for a variety of cultural experiences... but this might still be a bit beyond him. *grin*
