About Trains on the Dawlish and Teignmouth Sea Wall
The South Devon sea wall between Dawlish and Teignmouth is one of the most photographed railway locations in the UK, and rightly so. From the holiday mood of an August afternoon to the pounding waves of a January storm, the wall always provides a spectacular photographic backdrop.
This group has been set up to bring together all the great photos of the sea wall here on Flickr. Steam or diesel, historic or bang up-to-date, if it's railway related and taken on the sea wall we want it!
I have decided to widen the scope of the group slightly to include more of the great photographs taken in the area, and will accept any images taken between Powderham Foot Crossing (north of Starcross, OS Grid Ref. SX971847) and Hackney Marshes(east of Newton Abbot, OS Grid Ref. SX874722). This includes the classic Cockwood Harbour bridge, and the less photographed but still beautiful stretch of line beside the Teign estuary.
