About Photographic Contest "GOING NUTS"

The "Teatro del Porto" cultural association is promoting a photographic contest as part of the "Diversamente Liberi" initiative.

The contest theme is "GOING NUTS".
Photos can be color or B/W, digital or analogic, and are all meant to be supplied in a scanned and digitalized form by their respective authors.
No registration fee is required.

Applicants simply need to register on www.flickr.com, one of the biggest international communities on the art of photography, and post their pictures in the "Concorso Fotografico "DARE I NUMERI"" group page.

All participants can apply with a maximum of three unpublished photos.
Each work must be given a title and, optionally, a brief comment or description.
Authors are entirely responsible for the contents represented in their works.
By applying to the contest the authors signify to own their photos' rights and, on condition that their names are properly credited each time, authorize the association to reproduce any of their works for any non-profit publication related to the "Diversamente liberi" initiative.

All applicants shall send their pictures by April 20, 2008. Works posted after this date will not be admitted to the contest. The group administrator will announce in the "20 Foto" topic of the "Concorso Fotografico "DARE I NUMERI"" group page the 20 finalists, who will promptly have to send their winning works to the association via one of the following:

- Priority mail: "DARE I NUMERI", Teatro del Porto, Via Negrelli 12 – 57122 Livorno (Italy).

Shortlists and awards will be entirely based on the professional evaluation of a Jury, headed by worldly-famed photographer Oliviero Toscani and the "La Sterpaia" main editorial staff.

While assuring proper care and handling of the works, the association declines every responsibility for eventual damages or losses.

The 20 winning photos will be exhibited and awarded on Friday, May 20, 2008 in the foyer of the Goldoni Theater located in Livorno (Italy), before the screening of the "Diversamente liberi" documentary. All the winning photos will eventually be kept in the association archives, and will be freely usable by the association for any non-profit purpose, provided that the respective authors will be properly credited each time.
Finally, the contest works will appear in an official catalogue edited and published by "Take it easy" magazine, and will all be prominently featured both at the exhibition and at "The Cage" Club, on its summer season opening night in the Fortezza Vecchia of Livorno (Italy).

Prizes
First prize: A work print and a 3-day workshop by "La Sterpaia".
Second prize: A work print and a discount coupon for photographic material.
Third prize: A work print and a discount coupon for photographic material.
Fourth-to-Twentieth prize: A work print.
