Ah, they've got this group too then?
The same thing happened in the D300 group a couple of days ago. The porn was coming from several users and the admins decided to switch the D300 group to invite only for a bit.
For those with a stronger stomach, find the pictures, go to the owners profile (close your eyes and scroll to the bottom). There you will find a link for reporting a profile.
The second option down is breaching terms, I did that one, and also the "other" option where you can give a description of that they were doing.

It's probably the same guy again. he's been doing it for the past couple of weeks. Using different user names. Posting in a lot of groups.
@Steve it's not just strong stomachs. People search at work too. You don't want that showing up on your screen.

mo'funk - Yes I know, I was just saying we could self police a bit by getting him kicked off... Although I'm sure he'll just set up another account and be back...
Don't you just love school holidays... Damn Canon users :-p

Yeah we have three of his pics on page 4 - can they just be removed? Or is turning them black the best we can do?

Do you think this group should go invite only because this bampot obviously isn't going to go away.

I would support making the group "invite only" (as long as I'm still invited!)

Making group "Invite Only" would retain individuals that already belong to the group.

Rather than "invite only" (always strikes me as elitist) is there any way to ban that person's IP address?

@Ron Foxx
Not if he has a dynamic IP address, then the only way would be to ban the whole range which would be incredibly unfair.

I don't know if this spammer is a real person or not. It could be a script. Making the group invite only would at least prove that the person was real.
Banning IP address doesn't work either. I know for myself that I'm not always on the same computer so if you were to track my IP address it would be all over the place.

I flagged one of the photo's. Its disgusting. We're all on here to share our photos and ideas, not that garbage, Flickr is definitely not the place for that.

Rather than flagging these photos, which is a fairly low-key process, Flickr staff have recommended going to the account's photostream and using the Report Abuse link at the bottom of the page. That way the entire account can be deleted, rather than just changing the safety level on the photos.

Flagging it was my first thought. Plus in order to flag it you actually have to be on the photo, which was difficult since i did not want to look at that. Its not exactly the kind of image I want to have on a 24 inch screen. Thanks for the info on reporting it though

I have reported this guy to Flickr too. I'm sure that this will get taken down then it will just spring up again. Please can the moderator remove the three images in the pool? Many thanks.

I had a similar "attack" in the Nikon D80 Challenge Group. Fortunately all photos must first be approved by an Admin so they never made it into the group.
These trolls will always be around. Not much you can do to stop them.

The Nikon CLS Group switched to requiring moderator approval on images submitted to the pool.
It's been working out rather well, since we've been able to keep not only the porn, but all other off-topic images out of the pool.

Is there a way we can screen memebers before they join the group? When I joind the Open University group I had to prove I was with them before I was accepted into the group. I'm not sure how this works but I can find out.

You can set a group so that members have to agree to the rules before joining or you can make it invite only, you can make the group private too but you can't make it public again.
You can control how many images can be posted per day and have them wait in a queue for an admin to give them the green light before they show up in the group pool.
The trouble is, this group is massive, doing that amount of admin here would be a full time job.

It would seem that the only way to approve members before joining the group its to have this option when the group is set up. I think the only thing we can do is keep an eye on it and report it when we see it.

I think we would appreciate it if the group was changed to require approval before submissions went into the pool.
I admin two other groups and would be happy to assist with moderating the pool.

Asking the group admins to remove the offending shots from the pool will just fix the problem for this group, and only when the group mods/admins get around to do it. Going to that idiot's stream and using the "Report Abuse" link at the bottom takes less time and makes flickr's 24/7 abuse team nuke the whole account, thus making all the images go away in all the groups he spams.
