Printing an image?
|
Hi guys,
I went today to walgreens to print one photo. Then, when i went to pick it up, i saw that is not complete, because the size, so, i dont understand this issue!..
I mean, an original picture from the camera comes in High Res in:
12.907 x 8.64 inches.
If i want to print it in 6x4, i can do it
if i want ti print it in 7x5, i Cant, beacuse the photo goes to 7x4.686 then 10x8 i cant, cause the image is 10x6.69
So, what do i have to do in these cases if i want it bigger that 6x4?

Well... i know that i would have to crop it, but, its always?...
I mean, why, if all Digital Camera, that are the most common in this moment, dont print in the own size of the digital camera?
If all the cameras, make photos at 12.9 x 8.6 or the equivalent to this size, they should print them completely, right?... hehehe...
Im just tired of crop every photo just to fit them to the print size

You need to crop it so it will fit. Keep the aspect ratio at 2:3 for 4x6, 5:7 for 5x7, 4:5 for 8x10 and so forth. You will lose a little bit of the picture unless if you just print 2:3. Compensate when composing your image if you know you will be cropping later.

Hello, d.horande. Cropping 3:2 format (or 4:3, for that matter) for printing is easy using FastStone Image Viewer ( www.faststone.org/ ), which is free (as well as spyware/adware/malware free).
Open the photo you want to print in FS Image Viewer , click on: "Edit", choose "Crop Board". Click the arrows on the right-hand side of "Paper Ratio" on the Crop board and you can choose a print size (such as 7x5), then you can move the Crop lines on the photo, so you can crop the photo how you like it. You can also add or remove Paper Ratios with the "..." button beside "Paper Ratio." It also has a neat Rule of Thirds grid that is optional to use with the Crop Board.
There is also FastStone Photo Resizer, which can do batch resizing (which has the option of keeping exif intact), among other tasks.
Happy New Year, and I hope this helps you out. :) If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. :)
