About The Co Curators' Resource
The purpose of this group is to coordinate the setting up and the development of ideas for Co Curation
Co Curation
Go through someone else's photostream making creative critiques and comments on their technique, style, content, appeal: plus any or other aspects.
Here you can seek partners or curation 'rings' and look for ideas, announce results, whatever we want it to be.
The idea was sparked by this post from Tampen in this Flickr Central thread. To quote Tampen : “Go ahead, try it - it takes a bit of time, but it's fun and ultimately exceptionally satisfying !”
This isn’t an instant or overnight activity, to fully appreciate another person’s photo-stream, their style, ability and artistic direction could take some time. Tampen reported that to appreciate Hurleygurley’s stream took him weeks.
Where to start:
Take a look at the Pick Someone thread, pick someone, leave a message or flickr mail a solicitation, report there who you have chosen.
Then as you co-curate their stream leave tags on the photos you wish to reference. These could be specific examples of style, or just because they are exceptionally good. You can then go back through the tagged photos commenting on why you chose them and then when you have finished the curatee could build a set of the tagged photos.
As you co-curate, please discuss here what you are finding and then when you are finished report back your experiences and post a link to the resultant threads. I’m sure that everyone’s experience will be very valuable.
