About CUPE Strike Windsor 2009
CUPE local 82, representing outside workers, went on strike since Wednesday, April 15th. Their colleagues of local 543, the inside workers, joined the picket line on Saturday, April 18th.
On July 17 CUPE voted on and refused the city's "final" contract offer. A second offer was voted on and ratified by the membership on July 24th, 2009, ending the 101 day strike.
This has been a contentious and pivotal period in Windsor's labour history. Many local amateur photographers have this a subject of interest. So I thought I'd create this group to pool our photos of and relating to the CUPE strike.
Please note that that this pool itself was not created to take sides, just a place to pool our photographic memories of this summer's CUPE strike. All submissions are welcome, regardless of political or ideological differences.
Finally please note that this pool is strictly amateur and has no affiliation with CUPE or the Corp. of the City of Windsor.
