About Crossing Border Festival

Crossing Border is a Dutch festival where literature, music, film and the visual arts combine to take central stage. As well as courting the biggest names from the international worlds of literature and music, the festival pays a lot of attention to (as yet) undiscovered artists. One of Crossing Border’s hopes is to highlight new developments in literature and music and their interconnection with other arts. It takes places every year in The Hague, the Netherlands. November 2011 brought the nineteenth edition of this festival that has evolved to become one of the foremost international, interdisciplinary literature and music festivals in Europe. In 2011 Crossing Border took place from 16 till 19 November. On the 20nd the festival headed out to Antwerp, Belgium, to continue the programme in the Arenberg theatre.

Crossing Border is het meest spraakmakende hedendaagse literatuur- en muziekfestival in Europa. Alle stijlen zijn vertegenwoordigd in het geschreven, gesproken en gezongen woord. Met internationale auteurs en artiesten. Gezocht wordt naar combinaties met muziek, film en beeldende kunst. Naast grote namen uit de literatuur- en muziekwereld wordt veel aandacht gegeven aan (nu nog) onbekende namen. De nadruk wordt gelegd op het tonen van nieuwe ontwikkelingen binnen de literatuur en op de relatie met andere kunstdisciplines. Het festival vindt elk najaar in Den Haag plaats. In 2011 was er voor de derde keer ná de Haagse editie een festivaldag in Antwerpen.
