Nicely done. Hair lock on eye does not bother me.
From the name , I understand the model is a male. Correct?

The model is male, but yes, a bit androgynous :)

Great pic. I would guess ihe is a male after some thinking ;-)
It may benefit from some light onto his hair, or may be hairdresser's highlights. Otherwise they are slightly lacking a volume and merge together on the top.

Good eyes. It's okay that one eye is behind the hair, gives a mystic touch. And the spotlight on the face, while body is in the shade, is very well done.

I like it-- soft and edgy at the same time, and you've got a great image to work with so you could do further versions to go more for either effect.

I like the over the shoulder composition and expression. I don't really think it is the best lighting choice....he looks mysterious, androgynous, enigmatic but the flat light does not reflect any of this....I would love to see it with more shadow and highlights.

My expertise is in post production and I'm very new to studio lighting (I do know the basics though). Any tips on lighting for more dramatic effect would be much appreciated floppydog1 (and others).
Lots of great comments here, thanks every one. I'm going to upload a few more of this series (I'm hesitant to clutter my photostream with too many serials though, I like having a varied stream).

It looks like there is a single hard/small light source just above the camera and maybe a bit to the left. It's not bad but it is just not as dramatic as the model's look and tone. If you pulled the light over to one side or the other you would get more dramatic modeling of his face.

Nope. This is a fairly standard three point lighting setup. Will try moving one of the lights more off to the side next time though. Thanks.
