About Columbia River Gorge National Scenic AreaPictures and information about the Columbia River Gorge area, between Oregon and Washington, particularly the part inside the National Scenic Area. Please limit the photos you post here to those that are primarily of the territory and natural beauty of the area. The protected area was formed when President Ronald Reagan signed a bill into law enacting the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Act. It was designed to preserve the scenic and historic value of the area and enhance tourism. I am lucky enough to live here and be able to explore it, and would like to share it whenever I can. Please post your pictures of the area, and post any comments about what you've seen or done in The Gorge, but please, no politics about the area, we have plenty of that available already. |
