Hopefully I'll be able to think up an original idea for a group but for now I'm letting this one go.

Crazy Goose's Gallery - View this group's most interesting photos on Flickriver

Every group starts with but a few members. With the patience of the first few invited and some judicious posting we'll get a nice group going here. The idea is to invite people who I've seen posting pics that I (and future moderators/admins) particularly like and have a high standard photostream.

Let's invite people to the group who we see posting excellent photos by using the invite code. The admin only invite idea was not a good one.

People are free to apply to join if they believe I have somehow overlooked their excellence. I'll check out your photostream and hopefully welcome you with open arms.

What I'm ultimately trying to build is a group where members find themselves compelled to comment on the excellent images herein rather than bullied into commenting so I won't ban them. I'm sure people would rather have a comment that was typed with a thought on the photo than a spammed comment code under duress.

Frankly I'm not all that bothered if the group stays small as long as it stays quality over quantity. Wouldn't both be awesome, though! If you have posted a pic, why not stick around and view a few of the awesome pics in here and see if you can resist commenting on them by typing actual words!
