About Craniacs! Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!
This group will focus on efforts be Operation Migration to reintroduce endangered Whoopers into Eastern North America. Those of us who are involved in the project call ourselves Craniacs. We chat together on the Operation Migration Website . . . follow the Ultralight-Led flock on their initial migration from training grounds to various winter habitats in Florida, etc.
Don't know what a Whooping Crane looks like? Check out this wonderful photo from Flickr User www.flickr.com/photos/rowrlm/ who is a great friend of both the Whooping Cranes AND Operation Migration!!
Join us and catch "Crane Fever" . . . there are all sorts of opportunities to "help" and in so doing enrich your own life and appreciation for the endless miracles in Nature.
Operation Migration has played a leading role in the reintroduction of endangered Whooping cranes into eastern North America since 2001. In the 1940's the species was reduced to just 15 birds.
We need your help! Operation Migration relies on grants and contributions from individuals and foundations to continue our work.
You can help ensure the Whooping crane survives for future generations by calling 800-675-2618, or visiting this link - OperationMigration.org - to make a donation or get further involved. .
Operation Migration is a founding partner of the Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership (WCEP), the coalition of non-profit organizations and government agencies behind the project to safeguard the endangered Whooping crane from extinction.
