We are lucky to have our beautiful country parks, national parks and forest parks, which are wonderful places to relax, watch wildlife, take some healthy exercise and generally de-stress. Country parks are especially important in urban, suburban and post-industrial areas where they are often oases of green space and tranquillity.

Countryside rangers and volunteers work very hard to keep the parks clean, make them attractive habitats for wildlife and teach the general public about the great outdoors.

Forest parks are interesting places for watching birds and wildlife, and increasingly have many activities on offer such as mountain biking, orienteering, sculpture trails and high wire forest adventure courses.

National Parks have large areas of countryside that have strict controls over planning of new developments and have many areas where there is enhanced public access to moors and mountains.
