About Phillips66 Cottages
Early last century, Phillips66 Oil Co. began retailing its brand of gasoline out of neighborhood-friendly "cottage" style outlets. Hundreds have disappeared over the years, but there are still a bunch out there, hidden under years of repainting, additions tacked on, etc. The most prevalent form involved a tapered chimney next to the front door. On the chimney and the sides of the building were "portals" that once included the "66" shield logo. Feel free to submit any of your cottage finds, or similar service stations of the time period!
