About Coral Gables Bike Lane Outrage

Photo documentation of anti-vehicular bike lanes added to Coral Gables' Segovia St. / Coral Way (SW 24th St.) intersection.

The sidewalk-inclined construction of these lanes poses a compromise to safety, shows disrespect to cyclists, and disregards the vehicular rights to cyclists as per the Florida Statutes, 316.2065.

As cyclists, we must stand up for our rights as legal road vehicles, and request a proper redesign of this intersection. Please send your concerns to: cityofcoralgables@coralgables.com.

Tell them that these bike lanes must be re-striped to indicate that cyclists may continue past the sidewalk exit. Likewise, VC signage at the roundabout would be ideal; better yet, tell them that you want to see the door zone issues eliminated properly.
