About accessCeramics
accessCeramics is a growing collection of images of contemporary ceramics by recognized artists. The collection is designed to fill a void in contemporary ceramics digital image collections on the web. We hope it will be useful to artists, arts educators, scholars, and art collectors.
Currently the group is by invitation only, and all Flickr images must be submitted through our cataloging interface (accessceramics.org). The intent of this is to enrich each image with appropriate metadata to assist in ceramics education.
This project was initiated through a collaboration between the Art Department and Watzek Library of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. Founding members include Margo Ballantyne, Visual Resources Curator, 1990-2009; Mark Dahl, Associate Director of Watzek Library and accessCeramics Project Manager; Jeremy McWilliams, Digital Services Coordinator of Watzek Library; and Ted Vogel, Assistant Professor of Art, Studio Head of Ceramics, and accessCeramics Collection Curator. If you're interested in the project, please contact Stephanie Beene (sbeene@lclark.edu), the new Visual Resources Coordinator at Lewis & Clark College, or Ted Vogel, Collection Curator, at (vogel@lclark.edu).
