About Constructive Criticism
This is a group for those who are looking for feedback on their photos in the way of constructive criticism. It is not a "save" or "delete" group; it is just for people who want to better their techniques while sharing their photos with others. This is a group for people who are amateur photographers and still learning, or honing our skills. If you are just looking for "Wow" or "Amazing" praise, this is not the place for you.
Rules:
Constructive criticism and feedback only, please. If you are leaving praise for a photo, say what you like about it.
YOU MUST DO CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM ON THE THE FIRST THREE PHOTOS APPEARING IN THE GROUP BEFORE YOU POST YOURS.
Be constructive in your comments. If you think the photo needs some work or could have benefitted from a different technique, say so in a way that is not insulting or condescending to the photographer.
The feedback will be the most important dynamic of this group. We will go through daily or more and purge from the pool any photos by photographers who have not posted critiques on the three photos previous to theirs.
We will, in addition to the open pool, have weekly theme contests, just for the fun of it, though feedback is encouraged on contest entries as well. We will also have various posts during the week discussing techniques, equipment, etc. Feel free to start a thread if you have anything you want to bring up.
If you are going to post more than one photo, please leave at least five photos between your postings.
Also, please tag photos you put in the pool with "constructive criticism" (use the quotes to prevent the tag from breaking into two single word tags) and when you leave feedback on another pool photo, just add (from the <a href="http://flickr.com/groups/constructive_criticism/">Constructive Criticism</a> group) to the end of the comment so the photographer knows you came from this group.
So, to recap, rules for posting in the pool:
1. Critique the first three photos appearing in the pool.
2. Add this to your comments: (from the <a href="http://flickr.com/groups/constructive_criticism/">Constructive Criticism</a> group)
3. Add your photo to the pool
4. If another photo has appeared in the pool while you were doing your three critiques, add a comment to that photo.
