About The Consolidated City: New York City
How can we collectively begin to define the way we see the modern city of new york?
What moments have been captured? What moments are memorable? What perspectives are unique? What content is relevant?
The context is clear: The Modern City of New York = the Consolidation of the Five Boroughs in the year 1898.
What does this mean? How can we collectively consolidate and capture what this means 111 years after that fact? How can we measure and record this progress in the most positive and thought provoking ways? What moments still remain from pre-consolidation?
This consolidation from 1898 was politically driven and culturally progressive.
The infrastructure that transformed this modern city and increased the network of the 5 boroughs we all know are the bridges, tunnels, and the subway system. Without those vital lifelines this city would not be what it is today?
What messages do people living, working, and breathing energy into this modern city leave for the next person to walk by or for the next generation to experience? Whether it be a permanent form of 'graffiti' such as a building or an informal tag that an individual has marked their territory with.
This is just the beginning of an investigation into how we can consolidate the content of the boroughs.

people are people because of people
side bar: i chose to start this group because i noticed all the other groups are too general and unfocused and i want to try and help bring together a new perspective on how this city can be understood.
