About Connections
This is something like the TV show Connections.
Photos posted to the pool are starting points for chains of connections.
The connections themselves are found in the "box" notes posted on the pictures. Each connection note has a hyperlink to an interesting picture on flickr that has something to do with the area noted in the picture.
Add your connections as notes to the photos found in the pool as well as the connected photos. Only connect "to" your own photos. You can connect "from" other any other player's photo whether it is in the pool or in a chain.
Take a moment to surf some of the connection chains in the group just to see how it works.
To form a hyperlink in HTML, use the following syntax:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/yourname/yourphoto/">Your link text</a> substituting your own URL and link text.
In order to distinguish the connections pool notes from the others that might be on the photos, each connection note should start with "connection:". Multiple connections can be posted on the pictures.
Your connection note should explain why there is a connection.
You don't need to post a picture into the pool to have it in a chain. It just needs to be linked from another picture in the chain.
Put backward linking connections on your newly linked photos to steer people back to the previous photo in case someone jumps in at a random point from the tag group.
Put the tag "connectionspool" on the pictures that you link to as well as those that you submit to the pool.
Photos with lots of possible connection points are encouraged.

To keep the chains growing, please allow other flickr users to add notes to your submitted photos. You can change the policy on the individual pictures by going to the photo page, clicking "change" under Additional Information, then clicking more options. You can change the default setting for all future submitted photos at the Default Photo Privacy page.
This may all seem complicated at first, but it's really pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
