About Composition Patterns
This group is about composition patterns.
Starting from an abstract composition pattern members are invited to add their shots whose composition is reminding of the composition pattern.
You can add existing shots of yours or you can consider this group as an exercice opportunity to take shots on purpose to match the suggested composition pattern.
You can also start a new composition pattern thread.
Please, note that the pool is only meant to hold new composition pattern starting images, so please don't post your image into the pool unless you are starting a new thread. Images which aren't starting any thread will be removed from the pool.

Here's some guidelines on how to partecipate to this group.
How to add your image to a composition pattern thread
Once you have a shot you think is matching the composition pattern shown on the top of each thread you can post your image in the following way :
1) Click on the All Sizes button displayed on top of your image
2) Select Small from the Available Sizes.
3) Copy the HTML text into your clipboard
4) Reply to the topic in the thread by pasting the previously copied html code.
This way every thread will show a list of small, clickable images of shots with similar composition patterns.
How to tag your image
There are two specific tags for each photos belonging to a composition pattern.
Tag them with "CompositionPatterns" and "CompositionPatterns#NN", where NN is the number of the composition pattern your image is matching.
How to start a new composition patterns thread
Everybody is welcomed to start a new composition pattern.
Here's the way to do it :
1) Select an image with a simple, strong and easily recognizable composition pattern.
2) Open a new thread named "Composition Patterns #NN where NN is the first available pattern number in the threads and optionally add a synthetic description of the composition pattern.
3) Post the image in the pool adding the Composition Pattern tags
4) Please, put the following code into the photo description :
<a href="COMPOSITION_PATTERNS_THREAD_URL" >This shot is the starting pattern for a collection of similar composition images.</a>
Look for other composition patterns in the <a href="http://www.flickr.com/groups/compositionpatterns/" >"Composition Patterns Group "</a>
where COMPOSITION_PATTERNS_THREAD_URL is the url of the Discussion Thread you have just created.
CompositionPatterntiquette
- If you are starting a new thread please try to use image with a simple, strong and easily recognizable composition pattern.
- Pure graphic sketches are also allowed as a starting image as well as sketches of an photo obtained by stylizing effects like posterize, stamp, cutout and so on. In this case add the original image as a first reply to the thread.
- Please, don't add new composition pattern if there are still many new and unreplied composition pattern threads.
