About Curb Magazine: 'Community' Image Contest

We invite you to submit an original images for our Community issue of Curb Magazine (www.curbmagazine.ca).

For this issue, we are looking for striking photos, illustrations or other artwork related to the topic of Community. Images will be judged for Originality, Composition and Relevance to the topic. If your submission is chosen for the cover image, a $300 prize will be awarded.

As images may be published, photographers submitting images with people in them are required to obtain publication permission from their subjects.

CURB MAGAZINE

CURB Magazine explores the city-region landscape, covering diverse issues such as: policy, rural and urban planning, development, architecture, transportation, infrastructure, public spaces, and the public. Published by the City-Region Studies Centre, Curb features articles on innovative research and issues that affect quality of life in city-regions across the country and around the world.

RULES

1. Photos/artwork must be originals.
2. Photos/artwork must be related to Community
3. No nudity or provocative images.
4. Administrator reserves the right to remove photos and/or members.
5. Technical suggestion: 8.5 x 11 at 300 dpi; portrait orientation is preferred. In the 'Group Pool' we have posted a blank cover with the Curb logo placed if you would like a reference.


PUBLICATION AND COPYRIGHT

The University of Alberta, City-Region Studies Centre, reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional material. Model releases are the responsibility of the entrant. All photos will be credited to the photographer.

With regard to any photograph submitted to this contest, you, or the owner of copyright in the photograph, retain all copyright. By submitting any photograph to this contest, you grant (or warrant that the owner of such materials expressly grants) The University of Alberta, City-Region Studies Centre, and licensors a world-wide, royalty-free, irrevocable and non-exclusive right and license to use, copy, adapt, transmit, communicate, publicly display and perform, distribute and create compilations and derivative works or merchandise from any such submitted photograph to promote the contest. You represent and warrant that you have the right to grant the license set out above.
