28 Aug 07 - Thanks for all the contributions so far! We've had to go to print and chose one by Chris Worall. However,I'm hoping that there'll be an expansion of the theme and more photos will be needed. So if you ever have a chance to take a pic like this... ;-)

UK Poverty: leaflet sofa cover

The picture above for the one used for a leaflet and pop-up stands. More contributions welcome!

THE BRIEF

This is an open brief to UK resident photographers, to take photos that will be used by a UK Poverty Program in media communications. The final scenario would be to have a large set of these images, taken around the UK by different photographers. Payments can't be made, but full photo credits will be given. Hopefully we can also produce a booklet featuring these photographs as a pictorial documentation of poverty in the UK.

Title:
UK Poverty Program: comfortable sofa in a poor neighbourhood photo assignment.

Brief
To photograph a comfortable sofa in a poor neighbourhood. The sofa should be: good quality ((the kind of comfy sofa you would have at home), well lit, while the backdrop not so. The colour of the sofa must evoke warmth and comfort. The backdrop must be occupied houses, not disused and boarded up and there should be few distractions (people, cars etc) in the image. To submit a wide selection of images that capture all angles of the sofa in situ for various treatments in the leaflet. (Please view the uploaded images for reference).

Time frame
Completed by Monday 20th August 2007.

Format
As large and as high resolution as possible (suitable for large scale printing). Saved on disk or uploaded to ftp site.
