About Flickr Meet - Columbus : Critique Forum

Who / What: This group is for anyone in the Flickr Meet Columbus group who is interested in getting critiques from other users on their images. This group is a direct off-shoot of the main Flickr Meet - Columbus group, to be a member of this group you must also be a member of the main Flickr Meet Columbus group. Dicussion topics in this group will be focused on image critiques, themes and related matters all other chatter should continue to happen on the main Flickr Meet - Columbus group.

Purpose: This is the place to post images and to have them reviewed by others in the group. The goal for everyone should be constructive and supportive with the understanding that everyone wants to create better photographs. One way to create better images is to have others offer what they think of your work in detail, the good the bad and the ugly.

The goal should be to provide honest feedback, it's fine to include talk about the weaknesses of a specific photograph and to be honest, but it's not okay to make statements directed at a person or that are mean in nature. Remember people are kind of putting themselves out there so be nice to each other..

All Play: As with the Columbus Flickr Meet group, this group is for all skill levels.

Tips: I might suggest when starting a dicussion thread about an image or when posting an image, that you perhaps put a note about what you were trying to capture/say with the image as it will help give others more information to draw from when they write their throughts about an image.

I would also reccomend when giving your $.02 worth on an image that you start with the positve aspects and end with the negatives, try to be supportive as much as possible. We will have some people who are full time professionals in this group and others who simply have a P&S camera and very little knowledge in how to use it.

If your putting your images in a dicussion thread (hint: you should be if your wanting a dicussion about a set of images) please use the small or medium sizes. If larger images are posted things can be harder to read, if someone wants to see a larger size they can click on the link to see the larger image.

Photo Pool: Please upload photos that are either 1.) being talked about in a review thread 2.) is a photo you want critiqued or reviewed by others. The group pool should probably not have a ton of images, as if the pool has too many images it can be easy to pass them by and each image won't get a chance to get reviewed.

Membership: Group administrators and moderators can remove anyone for any reason at anytime.

No Advertising: This group is not the place to promote your business. Some discussion of businesses is great but not talking up yours.... subject to the discretion of the admins/moderators.

Posting Limits: Member's are limited to posting 1 photo a day (this might be raised). If you want feedback on a group of images start a dicussion thread and then insert those images into the dicussion thread.
