About The Colors of New York

In 2004, the artist group Stadtblind was formed in Berlin to challenge the conventional portrait of the city. Instead of the standard representation, Stadtblind aimed to illustrate the genuinely unique qualities of everyday life in the city. The group developed a format using color blocks, texts and maps to change people's perception often-overlooked elements of the city and to unify a collection contributions from many citizens. In 2005 published the book The Colors of Berlin. Now, Stadtblind is inviting new members and contributions to "The Colors of New York." Select photographs will be published in book released in Fall 2007.
