About Coastal Homes & Architecture
For a while, I've felt that homes on the water seem to be more unique, original, they have more chaaracter, more style than the cookie-cutter, assembly-line homes being churned out here in the midwest that adhere to no architecturlal style, and generally seem devoid of any soul. Why is that? I can't explain it myself- I don't think I have the vocabulary to put into words what my eyes, my mind likes, and why.
In an attempt to do so, though, I would say that, "I wonder if its the juxtaposition of an irresistible force of nature that, given time, could wear away a mountain, against a fresh, new structure jutting defiantly out against it, and that, somehow, the two divergent elements somehow serve to complement each other."
Is your photo of a man-made construction? Was it taken from a boat, or does it show the water in the frame? Post it here!
Submit your best examples of buildings with style, character, attention to detail- buildings that grab and hold your eye, be it on the shore of a placid cobalt blue lake, overlooking a tropical azure ocean lapping at a white sand beach, or perched precipitously atop a cliff above a fierce, churning ocean below.
