About Life in a Coal Mining TownThis group is a place to collect photographs, new and old, of what life is like in a coal mining town. The original posts to this group are black and white photographs from the mid-twentieth century, taken in a coal mining company town named Hendersonville. The town is located in southwest Pennsylvania, in Washington County, near the town of Canonsburg. I am interested in collecting photos depicting life in coal mining towns around the world. They can be family snapshots, documentary photos or whatever else you can imagine. They can be recent photographs or old photographs, photos of people, buildings and landscape. Please be sure to identify the place and time of the shot. |
