About CNW - Chicago & NorthWestern

The CNW was a Granger railroad extending north to the Twin Ports and west to the coal fields in Wyoming. Nicknamed the "Cheap & Nothing Wasted" the CNW always sought a bargain when it came to motive power. This gave the railroad some unique secondhand equipment that drew the interest of many railroad enthusiasts. It ceased to exist in 1995 when long time interchange partner Union Pacific took over the railroad.
