About Clone Contest

Having a weekly contest to put clones into a provided scene maybe with some theme. The winner each week will provide the scene for the next week. Scenes might include the beach, the dining room, a public park, a mountain, a car, the zoo or whatever takes your fancy. However thought should be given to the choice of scene so that there is room for the clones and they can be of reasonable size.

Clones means multiple instances of the same real person put into a single photo. They may be dressed differently and have disguises and even be modified (e.g. hair colour, body shape), but the images that are added must all be of the same real person.

New to clones and not sure how to start? Then have a look at the discussion thread How to do Clones.

Rules:

1. You may use yourself or one other person as a model, but only one person that you took the photos of can be added to the scene, and must be added multiple times. The entire original provided scene must be kept essentially intact but props may be added along with the characters. Please download, edit and upload using a size of at least 1024 pixels.

2. The main idea of the group is to practice photoshop or other photo editing software skills as well as photography and model posing skills. Interaction of the clones is highly encouraged as well as creative use of the scene and theme. You may enter more than once if you want (we all know that no-one has anything else that they are supposed to be doing) giving each entry the next consecutive number in the thread.

3. Original scene photos and competition entries must be posted to the weekly competition thread and numbered from #1, #2, #3 etc for voting purposes. They may also be posted to the pool if you wish.

4. Your modified photo with the clones should mention in its description that it was done for "Clone Contest" and include a link to the particular weeks contest so that people can see what you started with and find out about the group. It would be nice to mention in the photo description whether the person is yourself or what their relationship is to you, and whether you took the pictures especially for clone contest.

5. Please include tags such as "clone contest modified clones image".

6. Entries will close each week at Sunday 6 am GMT (that will be Sunday at about 6 pm in NZ, 3 pm in Japan and Australia, noon in India, 9 am in Arabia, 6 am in UK, 3 am in Brazil, and midnight Saturday in Central USA.).

7. The admins will change the discussion name to say "voting now" when it is time to vote. There will be a 24 hours voting period. You can vote once only for for your favourite three clone photos whether or not you made an entry that week. Put them in the order of your choices 1st, 2nd, 3rd. They will receive 3, 2, 1 points respectively. Don't forget to vote on Sundays.

8. The winner will then be declared. The winning entry should be posted to the existing winners discussion thread. The winner will post a new scene and optionally a suggested theme (e.g. star wars or family picnic or prison escape) starting the next weekly numbered discussion thread. It is polite to put a link to a larger (say 1024 pixel) image under your picture for easy access. That means the chosen picture should be at least 1024 pixels in size. In the case of a tie, all tied photos will be entered into the winners circle, but only the first posted one will post next weeks photo.

9. This is a family group, so keep that in mind.

10. If the admin remembers he will put some code in the new weeks discussion for people to copy into their photo description that links back to the discussion so that people know about the competition and where the original pictures come from. If he forgets, give him a kick. Don't worry if it sounds complicated, we will work it out as we go along. Have fun! (This is compulsory!)

The following code can be copied into your comments to refer to this group and includes the icon and a link. Please spread the word.
