About Classical Architecture.
Invented by the Greeks, expanded upon by the Romans, rediscovered in the Renaissance, classical architecture is the true International Style.
Classical compositions are symmetrical. The left side mirrors the right side. The buildings share a language, a formal system of design based upon rules, proportions, and organization.
In recent years, "New Urbanism", with its emphasis on streets and public spaces built harmoniously, has again brought classical values to the forefront.
