About Civic Pride
Photos of various displays of serious, silly and sometimes misguided civic pride, like "best tasting water", "smallest town", "<something> Capitol" and things of that nature. They should be real signs or banners displayed by the city featured. They can be (but are not limited to)
• "Welcome To" signs, at the entrance to a town.
• Slogans on cop cars or other city vehicles.
• City banners or streetsigns.
Basically, if it's "official" (meaning the City/County/Jaycees/Chamber of Commerce, etc. put it there), then it's OK here.
The more odd or unintentionally funny, the better, but it doesn't have to be either.
Also:
• Statues or monuments.
However, in this last category, we're looking for strange stuff. Anything that makes you laugh, smile, run in terror or wonder aloud "what the heck were they thinking??" when you see it. A nice plain old normal statue/monument won't cut the mustard, sorry.
We're not looking for "high school champs" type things, since those are quite common in small towns. (Unless it's something like "State Tiddlywinks Champions", or some odd/weird team name.)
