About GNAC - God needs Air Conditioning

This group is meant to illustrate the uneducated manner in which church and churchmen in Christian Europe disfigure historical monuments in their care by adding "modern technology" such as unsightly air conditioning metal contraptions on church elevations. Such acts of iconoclasm should be forbidden by both Church and State, for not only it damages the structure of the building and it affects its aesthetic merits but at the same time it destroys internal frescos which are hundreds of years old, often painted by great master painters.
This sorry state of affairs and indifference only highlights a poor level of education of the custodians of cultural and religious heritage who ought to know better. It also casts doubt on their moral values for tampering with a people's heritage and identity.
The insolence of such cultural terrorism is on par with that of the talibans who destroyed ancient temples in Afghanistan or of the Chinese Red brigades during Mao's Cultural revolution.
UNESCO should protect these monuments and so should the Minister of Culture, the legislation of those countries should make it a punishable offense to carry on such installations and the church hierarchy should make the offending clerics to repent for their iconoclasm and send them instead to isolated enclosures in monasteries, away from inflicting further harm.
-------------------------

EXAMPLES of pictures sought:
AA. External metal air conditioning boxes fixed to ancient historical and architectural monuments.
BB. Detail damage done to internal frescos by the same installations
CC. Metal vents/chimenys sticking out through the windows
DD. Modern double glazing replacing old stained glass or window panes or the same enclosing open loggias
EE. the proximity of brutalist new structures erected at close proximity (often within a few feet (meters) from the religious church/monument intended to dwarf it, hide it from view

EXAMPLE OF RELEVANT PICTURES

1. with AIR CONDITIONING disfiguring the external elevation:

God NEEDS Air Conditioning...

2. with modern double glazing panes (termopane in Romanian) replacing old window glazing or enclosing church loggias (exonartex, pridvor) which were formerly open:

o hidosenie

3. with contemporary frames usually of plastic double glazing (termopane in Romanian) replacing the original traditional material of window glazing:

Biserica Sf. Voievozi Mihail si Gavril \ Sf. Antonie cel Mare (1826)

4. with brutalist concrete tower blocks hiding the historical church from view:

Old church, Civic centre, Bucharest

5 Example sanitary units (wash basin, etc) installed IN the church precinct itself!
(this one beggars belief)... what next - a shower, a bathtub and a WC?

pridvorul bisericii Sf. Alexe (1897), Calea Serban Voda 123.....

6. Example of historic gravestones with beautiful carvings and inscriptions covered by sundry carpets and paraphernalia furniture - bric-a-brac. Here is the marble stone over the grave of Vornic (Minister of Interior) prince Grigore Cantacuzino, a benefactor and Patron of this church!

mormintul vornicului Grigore Cantacuzino

RUGACIUNE:
Doamne, Dumnezeul meu, rogu-Te sa nu instaleze sutanele astea fara-de-lege, fara cuget si simtire, nici termopane, nici aer conditionat nci alte bazaconii ale diavolului care sa intineze, harul Tau, Doamne!
