无锡是中国江苏省下辖的一个地级市，地处长江三角洲腹地，南濒太湖，西依锡山、惠山，中间流淌着古运河。国家历史文化名城之一。2007年中国百强城市排名第7位。2005年11月，无锡总面积为4787.61平方公里（市区面积1622.64平方公里），总人口约457万人（市区人口228.49万）。

Wuxi (simplified Chinese: 无锡; traditional Chinese: 無錫; pinyin: Wúxī; former spellings: Wu-shi, Wushi, or Wusih; lit. "Without Tin") is an old industrial city in Jiangsu province, People's Republic of China. Split into halves by Lake Taihu, Wuxi borders Changzhou to the west and Suzhou to the east. The northern half looks across to Taizhou to the north over the Yangtze River, while the southern half also borders the province of Zhejiang to the south. Because of its recent development, Wuxi has been dubbed the "little Shanghai".
