Chinatown Time Travel USA

The word "Chinatown" is an Americanism that dates to the mid-nineteenth century.

Here we collect old photos of Chinatowns in the United States of America, whether they depict Chinese people, streets or shops of Chinatown, or objects that reflect the lives of the citizens of American Chinatowns from the mid-1800's to the 1970s. Ephemera such as old postcards, matchbooks, restaurant menus, movie stills -- anything that evokes Chinatown in the popular American imagination -- is also welcome here.
