Museum = A building, place, or institution devoted to the acquisition, conservation, study, exhibition, and educational interpretation of objects having scientific, historical, or artistic value.

Welcome to the Chicago Museums group! I love visiting museums all over the world but I noticed flickr is lacking a group that specifically focuses on the amazing cultural institutions of the Chicago area. Show us places you've visited from large institutions like the Art Institute to smaller places like the Surgical Science Museum. It would also be nice to see the numerous historic house museums and historical societies of the community. If you work with a particular museum, show us what goes on behind the scenes with collections and exhibits. Please post only the best photographs. Remember quality over quantity! Also consider having a caption or tag to tell us the name of your museum and its location.
