About Chicago History Museum

If you have a photo that says “Chicago,” join this group and share it with us. Your photographs of the city’s people, places, and events will help us tell the story of Chicago.

History Lives Here

The Chicago History Museum stands at the crossroads of America’s past and its future. The Museum is the city’s oldest cultural institution. We care for, showcase, and interpret millions of authentic pieces of Chicago and U.S. history. We tell the city’s story.

Photography is allowed in the permanent galleries of the Chicago History Museum, provided the images are taken for personal, non-commercial use. Photography is prohibited in special exhibition galleries. Visitor services and security staff are happy to answer questions about where photography is allowed.

Visit the Museum: 1601 N. Clark Street, Chicago, IL 60614

We invite you to engage with our stories and make history yourself.
