About Chaparral
This is a group for pictures of the chaparral country of the American West, or similar biomes around the world.
What is chaparral, exactly? There seems to be some difference of opinion on this. Some sources seem to require the presence of the California Scrub Oak, and pretty much imply that it doesn't exist outside California, to the sea side of the Central Valley.
I don't mean to be that rigid. Basically any warm, dry, hill country, covered with short, scrubby plants. Leg-breaker country. Is the idea clear? If not, open up a discussion, or send me a Flickr mail.
