About Your Changing Asia - 2010 Photography Contest
As we head into a new decade, what do you see changing in Asia?
We are looking for your compelling photos that exemplify change – large or small -- in Asia: whether on your travels, in your country, neighborhood, or on your street; socially, economically, culturally, or in global affairs. In one month, a panel of judges from The Asia Foundation will select five photos, which will then be turned over to our Facebook fans for a final vote. The selected photo will be featured with a photo credit on the homepage of The Asia Foundation’s global website and in our 2010 Flickr Photography Contest album.
How to Participate
1. Join the “Your Changing Asia - 2010 Photography Contest” Flickr Group. (If you are not currently registered with Flickr, you will need to follow the instructions to set up a free account.)
2. Upload your photos. Make sure that you make your photos public by setting the privacy on your photo to “Anyone” (Public). Please upload the highest quality photo available.
3. Add photo description. The more description you give, the better. Make sure to give us your name, where (be specific, not just the country) and what date the photo was taken, what the photo is of, and any more interesting tidbits that might help tell a story.
4. Is your photo not showing up in the Group pool? If your account is new, first you need to upload at least 5 photos to your Flickr account (not only to this group). After that minimum has been reached, then it shouldn't take more than a few days until your photos appear in searches, groups, etc.
5. Invite your friends to participate through Flickr’s “Invite” button, or through Facebook.
6. If you have any questions about how to join Flickr (it's free!), see Flickr's FAQs page.
How it Works
1. The photos posted will be moderated daily by The Asia Foundation.
2. The group will close at 5pm EST on February 26.
3. On March 1 we will upload the top five photos to our Facebook fan page. Fans will then have the opportunity to vote for a winning photo. The photo with the most “likes” in one week wins. (We invite anyone who has participated in the contest to join our Facebook page to vote – we hope to see you there!!)
4. The winning photo will be featured on The Asia Foundation’s website and in our 2010 Flickr Photography Contest album.
Rules
