About Challenged (IT'S ALIVE!)
Creativity-wise, sometimes you just need a kick to get yourself going again. And sometimes, you need to stop taking things so seriously and just have a little fun with things. You know, entertain yourself and you'll find your muse.
And so, ta da! Here, we'll challenge each other to create by giving each other seeds to jumpstart our creativity. Maybe it'll be a word, maybe a phrase, maybe a concept. Maybe something else entirely. In any case, you might ask yourself, "How am I supposed to photograph that?" And that should be enough to get the wheels turning, the juices flowing, the muses musing, and all sorts of other -ings.
How It Works:
There will be a thread for ideas (with a helpful title like "Post challenge ideas here") where you are most welcome to post your ideas for a challenge you'd like to see the group take on. There's no such thing as a bad idea, so anything -- photographic depictions of Elton John lyrics to still life -- is welcome.
Weekly Challenges:
Each Monday, we'll take an idea from the ideas thread and announce it as the new weekly challenge. Weekly challenges will have their own threads where you should post the images you've created in response to that particular challenge.
Longer Challenges:
Sometimes, there are challenge ideas that just need a little more room than a week -- something seasonal, perhaps, or a general theme -- these will be more open-ended, but will still work along the same principle as the weekly challenges (posting images to a thread).
The Pool:
The group pool is for images created in response to challenges. Perhaps a challenge will inspire you to create 10 images, or maybe you'll only come up with one. Either is fine, though the pool is for your favorite challenge response images, and not every single one. So, if you do end up ccreating 10 images in response to a challenge, great. Post them all to the appropriate thread, and pick one or two for the pool.
Tagging/Descriptions:
Please tag your images challenged OR put something about the challenge you're responding to in your image description. You don't have to do both, and can pick which you're more comfortable with, but a nod to the group would be nice.
