About Chabana - Japanese tea ceremony flower arrangements

Thanks for visiting this group!

Basic rules:
The container must be exceptional, the flowers seasonal and not 'styled'. Please note, one flower or a few are good practice. Elaborate displays of flowers are not. So no big containers either, it's about finesse. Chabana is 60% about the container, 30% about the material(s) chosen, 10% about the skill of the arranger.
And please ONLY comment or post in English, thanks! Enjoy :)

Some extra attention to:
Chabana is not Ikebana, so keep a close eye on where you want to post your arrangements, thanks so much. I want to keep this group as serene as possible, so please 'contain' yourself and only place your best pics/'arrangements'. Also no strong (black) borders and definitely no 'watermarks', as they intervene with the 'Zen' feel. I'm sorry if I can't allow your picture, I will try to explain why whenever possible. (I just have to look how this group goes)

More info about Chabana:
Chabana is a style of flower arranging used in Japanese tea ceremony or chado ('way of tea' in English). In contrast with Ikebana, for Chabana the container is the most important part of the arrangement as a whole. Also, the flower(s) should not overshadow the container and should be placed in the container as naturally as possible. Preferably, flowers that are long-lasting or strong-scented should generally be avoided.

Even the skill of the arranger is less important than the container or the, preferably seasonal, unchanged character of the flower(s). For Chabana, nature is asked to give the blessing of the season.

But most important: Have fun!
