New Apple Trackpad
|
Anyone use one for design? Going back and forth. Curious how it worked within the design interface.

Cameron Moll (@cameronmoll) had one, returned it within a couple of days. Good idea, but not quite there.

I think its not geared toward the arts, but towards desktop users who like the laptop trackpad. nothing more.
I can see it being cool for general web surfing, email, and maybe playing in iphoto. No way in illustrator, photoshop or code work. I have a waacom for that.
The people i know who were shouting from the rooftops about buying it, have not said anything about it since getting it.

I cannot see it as being an appropriate replacement for much of anything. I'd rather have a mouse, and I'd much rather have a pen and tablet.

if you want the multi-touch trackpad with an "art" spin, look at the Bamboo Pen+Touch. I'm loving mine.

I don't have one, but I can imagine using it for zooming in on canvases in Illustrator or time-lines in Final Cut Pro with one hand and mousing around with the other.
Of course, that sounds like it could be cool, but I might get one and end up never using it.
