The NYC Exposition and Blogs Show is unique in that it is a "live feed" of digital images directly from the participating flickr groups, i.e., a printless digital slide show with computer stations that enable visitors to explore flickr and the companion blogs, and where the artists can interchange their exhibited images at any time during the show's run... quite revolutionary!

CALL FOR NEW PHOTOGRAPHIC WORKS -
UTOPIA!
Is a juried photography exhibition
organized by the Shed Research Institute and
selected by YOU!
For full information on the exhibition, go to the exhibition website:
shedresearch.net/utopia.html
This is an open call for innovative new photographic works that examine and address ideas of Utopia!
Utopia is traditionally defined as an ideally perfect place, especially for its social, political, and moral aspects. Frequently, utopias are impractical, momentary, or have unforeseen consequences. These parameters might be used to create images that envision new cultural possibilities or interpret social, psychological, or formal issues. Interpretation and experimentation on the boundaries of the subject are strongly encouraged.
Utopia! Context:
Every year during the L.A. County Fair, the Millard Sheets Gallery organizes the juried New Photography Exhibition which draws thousands of entries internationally. The fair, in turn, draws well over a million in attendance, making the New Photography Exhibition one of the most competitive and attended art exhibitions in the country. Traditionally, a panel of elite judges select and organize the show around a theme.
In accordance with this year’s Utopia! theme, the Shed Research Institute (SRI) is not only facilitating an open call for works, but an open call for judging. The SRI has organized an online system where an unrestricted community of artists, audience members, and the general public can select the best works for the exhibition. The top selected works will be included in Utopia! which is a part of the Fair Exchange exhibition, curated by Irene Tsatsos, at the Millard Sheets Gallery. Select works will be published in the Fair Exchange exhibition catalog. All entered works will be exhibited online in the Utopia! archive.
For complete exhibition guidelines please go to:
shedresearch.net/utopia/guidelines.html
Please forward this call for works to all interested parties.

Exposure Dallas was founded in April 2006 by David Kozlowski and Wade Griffith, residents of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex who wanted to form a partnership to 'expose' talented local photographers.
Exposure Dallas is a way to honor local photographers by showing their work in public, and also a chance for fellow Dallas-Fort Worth Flickr Group members to meet each other in a fun, social atmosphere.

From the "Better late than never" department. I had a show earlier in the year. I would probably not have gotten back into painting or photography if it had not been for the encouragement and inspiration I have received at flickr.

Here are the works of mine that were in the show. I sold five photos.

You're invited to our photography exhibition in June.
1- 14 June, 2009
KLPAC, Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We often breeze through life seeing things without connecting to our surroundings. The duality of our surroundings is revealed, only when we stop, for a moment, and view through unclouded eyes.
Shot in various places across Malaysia, using Canon point and shoot; and DSLR cameras, the exhibition aims to capture the spirit of the photographers, Visithra and Kervin who have found a convergence in photography through a shared passion in life.
Please sign up at our Facebook page here

Attendance to the exhibition is FREE of charge.

After The Thaw Photography Exhibition, 15-19 November, The Strand Gallery, London, UK
Hi my name is Tom, I'm a photography enthusiast and Oxfam employee.
I thought that the group may be interested in this event:
It's called 'After The Thaw' - a groundbreaking new exhibition featuring photography from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia and Tajikistan.
The exhibition runs from 15-19 November from 11am-7pm and is free to the public. It marks twenty years of independence in the countries of the former Soviet Union and offers a stark, moving and contemporary portrayal of some of the remarkable individuals and communities that populate the region today. It is being held at The Strand Gallery in London.
