That matrix above is actually photos 0 through 95Million. But, "0" is represented by the first photo uploaded to flickr, which is actually photo #88. Click it and see.

Just ask **everyone** to post tons of (nice) pictures on the site and I'm sure you'll reach 100M by Saturday. People have always have cool stuff sitting on their hard drives.

Hi everyone, just joined this group, due to this conversation, really interesting.. how do you keep count, or should I rather ask, how could I check up when I upload pics?
Posted 76 months ago.

The count of the picture is part of the URL. In the link for mzan71's photo above for example, you can see the "100000000" in there.

but how can you check for *any* user. I know that a photo I uploaded this weekend is the 101-millionth-something but how can I find the photo that is 101-millionth?
(we are missing photo 101-million here)
thx - CWall

Oh. This thread was just intended to take us to 100M. I have no intention of bumping up the thread every 2 days (or more frequently, if flickr upload rate increases)
I suggest either:
1) We now do every 10 Million. So..wait until 110M and then post 101-110 at the same time.
2) Someone could start a group to track every millionth photo if they like (and/or photos with "interesting" numbers, like a Flickr Numerology group) and post a link to that group here.

in fact there is a url-rewrite when you look at photo.gne?... the more luxurious way to find a nice photo-number ist the page with the exif-data:

have fun :-)

I like that these essentially random photos show that the typical photo on flickr is not some cross-processed sunset. It's just people with photos of themselves and other people.
To my eye, it looks like the rate of growth stopped increasing about 6-8 months ago.

____________
"This photo currently unavailable" how many are counted with this
information? Not available means a shot is counted in database??
Are deleted shots counted too??? my comments of a deleted account exist for ever. Also counted.
100 million, but not seen all by all members world - wide!!
I´m so sad.
I give up. Most recent uploaded shots from my friends, I can´t see!
There a a lot of white gaps!!!
It is like this "This photo currently unavailable for you German member!"
over and out for now!
