07 May 09 - Inspired by David Hobby's recent 5-day 'Strobist' workshop in Paso Robles, a few local shooters decided that it was time to start a Strobist group for the Central Coast. We're just getting started. So, the clubhouse is a bit messy. Thanks for checking us out. We hope you'll join.

About Central Coast Strobist

Central Coast - that vast stretch of California that runs from just north of Los Angeles to just south of San Francisco.

Strobist - the global phenomenon, started by David Hobby, for all photographers obsessed with (or just interested in) off-camera flash.

Our CCStrobist group is intended to connect Strobists living in or traveling through the Central Coast. Although we are just stretching out legs right now, we'll eventually organize CCS meetups. In the meantime, add your Strobist images to our group pool and start chatting in our forum (Strobist images and topics only, please).

If you just are interested in general photography and not in off-camera flash in particular, you should check out these other Central Coast Flickr groups: SLO County, California Central Coast Photographers and Santa Barbara and Central Coast CA.

If you're just getting started with off-camera flash, check out the great Lighting 101 and Lighting 102 tutorials on Strobist (the mother ship).

The rules for posting images in this group follow the rules for the main Strobist Flickr group. If you are not already familiar with them, you will find them here

The short version is that
• Your photos should use off-camera (preferably small) flash,
• Strobist-related pix (set shots, gear shots, meet-up candids, etc) are also welcome.
• Your pix must have the lighting info somewhere (in the description or first comment).
• Flaming and being more critical than supportive will get you a one-way trip to the door.

Pix that do not contain relevant Strobist info, will be gently removed from the pool. You are welcome to post them again with the relevant info in place.
