About CC Salon Australia
A Showcase of Creativity!
This group promotes the work of Flickr members in Australia who have licensed their material under the Creative Commons licensing scheme.
Selected photographs will be showcased at a Creative Commons Salon, or Showcase of Creativity, to be held in Brisbane on 29 November 2006.
Event Details
The CCau Salon event will be part of the CCau Industry Forum, hosted by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation and Creative Commons Australia . The Salon will be held at the Glass House and the Block, Creative Industries Precinct, Queensland University of Technology - Kelvin Grove, from 6-8pm on Wednesday 29th November 2006.
So come along for a night of remixable mayhem featuring the likes of the (in)famous Melbourne-base video artist Andrew Garton, independent publishers A New Leaf Media, and the Community Convergent Newsroom.
To take full advantage of the showcase, in the afternoon leading up to the CCau Salon there will be a series of Creative Commons Industry Forums, bringing together representatives of Australian government, education, libraries and the creative industries (including film, music, publishing and multimedia) to discuss issues and strategies relating to the implementation of Creative Commons in Australia. These representatives will be encouraged to stick around for the Salon, so they can really see what's happening out there.

We are seeking 25-30 images, which will be displayed as A4 colour prints.
Please submit images you would like to have displayed as part of the Salon.
If you'd like to have your photos used in the live video remix during the event, please tag them 'CCSalonremix'.
The team from iCommons Australia will be choosing the images to be printed on Monday 20th November, so please post everything you wish to have considered by midnight, Sunday, 19th November 2006.
In respecting the licence you have chosen, we will attribute your work:
In addition, we ask that a description of each artist accompany their image, as well as an explanation of why the specific CC licence option was made.
We will contact you via Flickr mail to indicate whether they have been chosen, and to invite you to the event.
