About NSS Cavers Photo Group

Why Another Caving Photo Group? This group began initially for members of the National Speleological Society to share their caving photos after the other popular caving photo group on Flickr had banned a NSS caver from sharing their photos with the group. We don't believe in heavy-handed censorship, so this group was formed to provide a less moderated publishing platform for cavers to post photos. The NSS Cavers Photo Group is open to any cave photographer who enjoys taking and sharing images of caves and caving-related activities (such as conventions). Please be considerate of other members and post relevant photos.

Our Popular Caving Forum: If you'd like to meet cavers in the NSS and from around the world, we invite you to visit us at Cavechat.org, the most popular caving forum in the U.S. (and growing in worldwide popularity).

Our Popular Social Network Site For Cavers: We also have a great social networking site with lots of cavers, even more caving photos, tons of caving videos and blogs! You can find it at www.onlinecavers.com.

A link to our photo-sharing group is prominently placed on Cavechat and on OnlineCavers, so you can be assured that your photos will be seen by the largest possible caving audience in the United States.

How Cavechat.org Is Different: The NSS forum is member driven, not moderator driven , and we think that makes it more interesting for cavers to visit and participate. The forum does allow for a wider exchange of ideas and thoughts than other caving forums, and users like the less-controlled atmosphere and more active base of participating cavers.

Even if you are not a NSS member, you'll find a warm welcome on our forum. Our moderators are a diverse group and bring many different viewpoints to the forum, as well. We don't ban cavers, as some other caving forums do. Any caver is welcome on our forum, if they abide by our standard forum rules. We're very proud to be connected to such a fine group of cavers. As far as we're concerned, the NSS "rocks."
