I was contacted recently with links to a couple of cats that people have found on Flickr from elsewhere in the world. We would like to keep the group limited to the York cats, but thought it would be nice to post up some links here.

"Climbing cat" by Rick II - Amsterdam, Netherlands.

"Stone Cat" by Jean. - Aysgarth Falls, North Yorkshire.

Also, this one's not on Flickr (at least, we haven't found it yet), but there's a stone cat on a building in Brighton, UK.

Thanks to those who contacted me.

Here are even more interesting decorative cats from around the world for your pleasure! Do we have nothing better to do with our time?

Cat Sculpture by Sean Lloyd - North Carolina

Kitten in Bronze by Van in NYC - Santa Barbara Zoo, Santa Barbara, California

Broughty Ferry A to Z : M is for Man on a Bench. by stonefaction - Dundee, Scotland

The Dog Who Found a Cat Statue on the Sidewalk by KurtQ - Stockholm, Sweden

Also, Belfast is obviously a good place for cat lovers to go on holiday... Belfast Castle has a legend that the castle's residents will have good fortune so long as a white cat lives there. This legend is commemorated in the castle gardens by nine (unconfirmed) portrayals of cats in mosaic, painting, sculpture and garden furniture.
